State Govt to pay Rs 25-lakh to kin of crematorium employees in case of on duty death due to coronavirus from April 1, 2020

Gandhinagar, Wednesday: The Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani has taken an important and sensitive decision in the Core Committee Meeting for the crematorium employees with consideration of current difficult time of Covid-19.


The Chief Minister has considered such employees of the state’s crematoriums as Corona Warriors and has decided to give them the benefits given to Corona Warriors by the state government with effect from April 1, 2020.


Mr. Vijay Rupani has also decided that while working in crematorium, in case of death of any such employee due to Covid-19, the state government will also provide assistance of Rs. 25 lakh to their family in the same manner as it is given to other corona warriors.


Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Energy Minister Mr. Saurabh Patel, Minister of State for Home Affairs Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary Mr. Anil Mukim, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. K. Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretaries Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Mr. M. K. Das, Principal Secretary of Health Smt. Jayanti Ravi and senior secretaries were present in the Core Committee Meeting headed by CM.
